A tato is a flat envelope, box, or container. Tato folds are a Japanese tradition that began as a mere paper container or envelope used for holding small items such as buttons, coins, or thread. Tato folding has evolved into very decorative boxes, containers, envelopes, and purses. Learn to make a variety of tatos to hold small items, to use as a note or gift, or to enhance your art.
