Single, Double, and Triple Section Bindings

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday October 22

6:00 PM  –  9:00 PM

with Rosae Reeder
Thursdays: Ocotber 22, 99; 6-9pm CDT

In this two-part virtual workshop, learn three non-adhesive bindings that feature decorative stitching on the spine. Sew books with one, two, and three sections (or gatherings of pages) using sewing patterns including the chain stitch, Lazy Ns or Standing Zs sewing, and a surprise sewing for the triple-section binding. Instruction will cover how these sewings can be combined to make a larger and thicker structure with multiple decorations on the spine. Techniques for making punching jigs and using different cover materials will also be shared. All skill levels welcome.

For individuals to whom this does not apply, register at the rate listed first and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make reduced rates available.

What you'll need to participate: For this participatory virtual workshop we recommend you join on a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, if possible.
