This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday February 6

10:00 AM  –  11:30 AM

with Kathleen Sheridan
Saturday: February 6; 10–11:30am CST
For families with children ages 6 and up

Show your love by folding your valentines together! A variety of valentine-themed origami models will be taught, plus ideas for including notes and other personalizations. Your creations can be hung as decorations or sent in the mail. This workshop accommodates a range of developmental levels so that adults and children may choose to work together or side-by-side.

This workshop is also offered on Tuesday, February 2 for adults.

$35 per family
$15 per BIPOC family
*We are offering a reduced rate to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) participants to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom this does not apply, register at the rate listed first and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make reduced rates available.

What you'll need to participate: For this participatory virtual workshop, we recommend joining on a laptop or desktop computer with a microphone, if possible. A camera is optional. You will receive step-by-step instructions for downloading Zoom (it’s free!) and accessing the workshop online approximately 2 days before the workshop’s start date.

Materials: You are responsible for sourcing your own origami paper measuring 6”x 6” in any color. Each participant needs at least 8 sheets.

Please note: Registration closes 1/31 at midnight (CST).
