In this three-week workshop, Camilo Aguirre will share his artistic process and the developmental strategies he uses to create his comics. Beginning with an introduction to various formats used in documentary comics, the workshop covers the importance of point of view in the comic—who we are and what our position is in the world—as well as identifying blind spots and how to address them. Throughout the workshop, participants will work toward creating their own documentary story.

What you'll need to participate
Tech requirements: For this participatory virtual workshop we recommend you join on a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, if possible. You will receive step-by-step instructions for downloading Zoom (it’s free!) and accessing the workshop online approximately 2 days before the workshop’s start date.
Materials: Please provide your own preferred drawing and illustration tools.
