Make a heart shaped box with a fitted lid, perfect for storage and Valentine gift-giving. Class will include discussion on how to make variations on design and size. Modern cartonnage grows out of the long standing French tradition of covering small utility containers with various decorative materials and offers a great use for your marbled papers. In this class, we’ll review the essential elements of making unique containers from book board, then covering those structures with decorative papers. Learn the basics of design and construction using various boards, as well as the ins and outs of measuring, cutting, and applying decorative papers. All structural components will be hand cut in class.
