Making a Mini Memoir

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday September 30

7:00 PM  –  8:30 PM

with Regula Russelle
Wednesdays: September 30, October 7; 7-8:30pm CDT

Even when we must practice physical distancing, art making offers us powerful ways to relate and connect. Explore mini memoirs and how bits of your life can be shaped into a meaningful form. Look at examples for inspiration, cover content development, simple zine or book structures, and tips on making multiples. This participatory virtual workshop will include group and individual meetings if needed.

Certificate: 3 hours, Category C or D

$60/participant (10% discount for MCBA members)
$30 for BIPOC participants (10% discount for MCBA members)

*We are offering a reduced rate to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) participants to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom this does not apply, register at the rate listed first and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make reduced rates available.

What you'll need to participate: For this highly participatory, virtual workshop we recommend you join on a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, if possible. You will receive step-by-step instructions for downloading Zoom (it’s free!) and accessing the workshop online approximately 2 days before the workshop’s start date. You are responsible for sourcing your own supplies from the materials list. Teaching artists will answer questions about the materials list in advance of the workshop. Please note:

Registration closes 9/23 at midnight.
